AGAINST THE WIND FESTIVAL PRODUCERS

A group of local volunteers is producing the Against the Wind Festival, October 14-October 21, 2018,

to draw attention to the nuclear threat to life on earth and to fuel a new voyage of the first “peace boat,” the Golden Rule. The Festival, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation #77-0596127, includes the revival of Which Way the Wind?, a play last produced in 1960.  Proceeds from all Festival events support the fall voyage of the Golden Rule.

In 2010, the Golden Rule was raised from the bottom of Humboldt Bay and rebuilt by community volunteers and members of Veterans For Peace.  Now the National Organization of Veterans For Peace intends to sail the boat on its once-thwarted mission, toward Hawaii and the Marshall Islands, en-route to Japan for the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
