The Bills are performing at the Arcata Playhouse Wednesday, June 29 at 8pm. They are an extraordinary quintet from the west coast of Canada, renowned for their instrumental virtuosity, lush vocal arrangements, exuberant live performances, evocative songwriting and refreshingly innovative interpretations of traditional tunes from around the globe.
The Bills have forged a musical style all their own that transcends musical boundaries and defies simple categorization. Drawing musical inspiration from a broad range of North American traditions, a melange of European stylings, rhythms of Latin America, and melodies of the wandering Romany peoples, With three main writers in the band, The Bills have developed a glorious and growing repertoire of songs that speak of their own part of the world.
The Bills have racked up a string of Canadian music awards and a devoted fan following that extends across North America and Europe. They will be performing tunes from their freshly released CD Trail of Tales.

Playhouse Teen Group Hosts Cabaret With Music, Poetry and Dance
Arcata Playhouse teen group is hosting a cabaret for all ages on Saturday, April 23 at 8pm and a poetry night Sunday, April 24 . Apprentice Entertainment is a group of local teens focused on the arts and producing events for community teens.
This community cabaret will include performers of all ages and all genres including poetry, music, and dance. The Arcata Playhouse is located at 1251 9th St. in Arcata. The cost is a sliding scale of $7-15 priced for everyone. Doors will open at 7:30 and the show will start at 8. Please come out to enjoy a night full of talent and support Humboldt teens!
