Arcata Playhouse
Teen Program
At the center of the program is a Òteen task forceÓ, Apprentice Entertainment, comprised of a rotating group of five-ten local teens. The goal of the program is to empower youth, under 21 years of age, to produce, promote and play in the arts in order to build better community engagement and cross generational communication. The program includes a mentoring program for young producers, as well as workshops and activities to be held at the Arcata Playhouse.

Apprentice Entertainment is a teen group of the Arcata Playhouse, whose goal is to create interesting and creative events for other teenagers in the local community. The participants in the group are given the chance to take part in each step in the process of creating an event, from the initial design of the event, to the final outcome. Along the way the teens can have the opportunity to work with publicity, form and style decorations, as well as set up. Teens can also work with technical aspects such as sound and lights, as well as concessions and stage managing.

Apprentice Entertainment has successfully created many variety shows, music shows, dance parties and has produced other music groups and theater troupes, and continue to try to create more fun events for local teenagers.
